Dundalk has some of the most interesting housing history in Baltimore County. The original village was purpose-built planned housing for shipyard and steel workers in the early twentieth century, and much of that stock is still standing and still lived in.
For a plumber that means the pre-war profile we know well from Catonsville: galvanized steel supply corroding from the inside, cast iron drainage narrowed by hard water scale, plaster-and-lath walls that do not forgive exploratory openings, and non-standard fixture roughs.
The other local factor is elevation. Dundalk sits low and close to tidewater, so groundwater is high and basements take water. Sump pump reliability and correctly routed discharge matter here as much as anywhere we work.

In a pre-war Dundalk house it is almost certainly galvanized supply corroding from the inside and narrowing. That said, a failed pressure reducing valve produces the same symptom for a fraction of the repair cost, so we test at the meter and at the house before recommending anything.
