Hilton is one of the more convenient corners of Catonsville — close to the shops, close to the highway access, and close to us. Practically that means short response times, and for anything that is not a genuine emergency we can usually offer same-day.
The housing runs to comfortable mid-century family homes with the plumbing profile that goes with the era: copper supply, cast iron drainage, and water heaters that have been replaced once and are due again. Drain work and water heaters make up most of our calls from these streets.
It is straightforward work in straightforward houses, which is a nice thing to be able to say. Where it gets interesting is the same place it always does in Catonsville — the sewer lateral out front, and whatever the trees have been doing to it.
What we find in Hilton homes

Quick access from our shop
Hilton is close to the main routes and close to Westowne Road. Response times here are among the shortest in the service area, and same-day scheduling is usually available.
Mid-century systems at replacement age
Copper supply and cast iron drainage from the original build. The copper is at the age where pinholes appear; the cast iron has scaled and narrowed. Both are normal and both are manageable if you know they are coming.
Kitchen lines and grease
Cast iron kitchen drains plus decades of grease plus hard water scale produce the annual kitchen backup. Cabling clears a channel; jetting cleans the pipe wall and actually solves it.
Neighborhoods and landmarks we work around
We work throughout Hilton and the rest of Catonsville, including 21228. Streets and landmarks we are around regularly:
- Hilton Avenue
- Baltimore National Pike
- Edmondson Avenue
- Catonsville Plaza area
- Ingleside Avenue
- Rolling Road
What Hilton customers tell us
Hilton customers mostly want somebody who turns up when they said they would. That is a low bar and a surprising number of contractors miss it.
I had an outstanding experience with Collins & Sons LLC. Daniel has done several projects at my home over the last 4 years. He has helped me with small projects (replacing a garbage disposal), large projects (renovating my patio) and random projects. No mat…
Needed a water heater and my upstairs plumbing replaced. After contacting them they were very flexible to my schedule, also explaining in detail costs and procedures. Who doesn't like an honest family owned professional? I would use them again any time and…
Danny is a very professional and friendly person to work with. His work as a plumber and contractor is outstanding. He receives a high rating as he cleans up after he finishes working. I highly recommend this company and Danny to work on any project for you…
Plumbing questions from Hilton
Why does my kitchen sink back up every year?
Grease on a scaled cast iron wall. Cabling bores a channel through the accumulation and the channel closes back up over the following months. Hydro jetting scours the pipe wall clean, and on a sound line the interval afterward is measured in years rather than months.
Can you come out the same day?
Usually, for non-emergency work. Hilton is minutes from our shop. For emergencies you will get a real arrival window on the phone rather than a four-hour guess.
Should I use a chemical drain cleaner first?
We would rather you did not, especially in an older house. Caustic cleaners sit on the blockage, generate heat and attack the pipe — in aging cast iron that can turn a clog into a leak. Boiling water and a plunger are safe; past that, call.
